The Journey to The Tranquility Haven
Did you know I've been a therapist for almost 17 years now?!
I went to South Trafford College to study beauty therapy when I was 22. I set up my first business to practice my treatments. I had a word document price list printed on pink card, and the name was Louise Rycroft Beauty - very original!
In 2014 I got married and changed the name to reflect my new name - Louise Oldham Beauty. Unfortunately as Oldham the place isn't too far away, I was getting lots of calls from people who live in Oldham wanting to book.
In 2017 I had left my NHS job and was self employed full time. I decided to change the name and became Elle Mobile Tanning & Beauty. The logo was designed by my friend Julie who captured me perfectly. The name Elle came from the letter L, for Louise. Also Elle as in 'she' in French.
Then came Lockdown. I built myself a website to sell products to try and support myself whilst I couldn't do treatments. In September of 2020, I received an email from the legal department of a huge corporation telling me I can't use this name. Whilst I understand their point, the names and branding were different. I was devastated. Having just survived lockdown, this was not something I wanted to have to do.
But I had to change the name quickly and my son (aged 4 at the time) came up with Elle-Louise. Obviously this is a bit of a mouthful, so it became Eloise Spa & Beauty Therapy. I was able to to keep the branding very similar.
Then in January 2025 I was on a yoga day retreat and when planning my vision board for the year, I realised my passion was in holistic treatments. Thats when I made the decision to remove some of the beauty treatments ad focus more on the massage, facial and reflexology treatments. I needed a new name to reflect this business, and the home salon. With some help from Chat GPT , The Tranquility Haven by Louise was born. This name can also be carried with me - whether I'm doing a corporate client, on a farm - you will find the tranquility haven wherever I am.
What a rollercoaster!
I finally feel the name, the home salon, the treatment room at Magpie Cottages & Spa, the treatment menus now all reflect me and my business perfectly 🤍
