Wellness Tips for the Festive Period
Slowing Down, Staying Balanced & Putting Yourself First
The festive season is wonderful, busy, emotional, and often overwhelming all at once. Between celebrations, family commitments, late nights and gift shopping, it’s easy to slip into “doing-mode” and forget about your own wellbeing.
I want to you to be able to enjoy Christmas feeling balanced, calm, and present — not burnt out.
Here are some wellness reminders to guide you through the festive period:
1. Make Time for Slow Mornings
Even one peaceful morning a week can make a huge difference to your nervous system.
Try:
Sitting with a hot drink before you look at your phone
Gentle stretching or breathwork
Soft music, candles, and no rush
Small rituals set the tone for the day ahead.
2. Honour Your Energy Levels
You don’t have to be at every event.
You don’t need to be available to everyone.
Check in with yourself:
“Do I really want this, or do I feel obliged?”
Protecting your energy is an act of self-care.
3. Prioritise Restorative Movement
December tends to be full of indulgence and late nights, so choose movement that feels grounding rather than punishing.
Think:
Walks in nature
Gentle Pilates or stretching
Slow-flow yoga
Restorative practices instead of high intensity when you're depleted
Move to feel good, not to compensate.
4. Create Quiet Moments Just for You
The season can be emotionally heavy as well as joyful. Giving yourself space to process is essential.
Ideas:
Journalling your thoughts before bed
An evening bath with oils
A treatment or massage to release tension
Early nights when your body asks for them
Rest doesn’t have to be earned.
5. Choose Intention Over Perfection
Not everything needs to be flawless — not the meal, not the house, not the wrapping paper.
Focus on how things feel, not how they look.
Let this season be:
Meaningful
Calm
Connected
Low-pressure
Perfection and comparison is the thief of joy.
The festive season is for you too — not just everyone you take care of.
Make room for moments that nurture your mind, body, and nervous system. Come into the new year feeling restored, not exhausted.
You deserve that 🤍
