Into Stillness

Are you feeling overwhelmed, unbalanced and not like yourself?

Are you looking for some time to yourself to switch off and reset?

This is your invitation to join us at Into Stillness, a immersive sound bath and reiki event.

Take some time for you and join in Cheadle Hulme for an evening where you don’t need to do anything other than lie back and receive.

This evening is designed for you to be able to step away from your busy life and pause.

We will start the evening by settling on your mat, the cosier the better. Bring anything you need like pillows, blankets, bolsters to be able to feel comfy, cosy and supported. Louise will then lead you in a short guided meditation with some breath exercises to help you settle your nervous system, allowing you to fully relax into the sound bath. Allow the sounds to wash over you. Throughout the sound bath, individual reiki will be offered.

FAQ

What is a sound bath, and what happens during one?

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience where you are immersed in the soothing sounds and vibrations of instruments such as crystal singing bowls. You simply settle into a comfortable position, close your eyes if you wish, and allow the sounds to wash over you. There's nothing to achieve, nothing to get right and nowhere else you need to be.

What if I've never been to one before?

You're so welcome! You don't need any previous experience, and I'll guide you through everything you need to know before we begin. Many people come along having never experienced a sound bath before. All you need to do is arrive with an open mind and give yourself permission to pause.

What do I need to bring?

Bring a yoga mat, a blanket to keep you cosy, and a pillow or bolster to support your head and knees. An eye pillow is lovely if you have one, but it's entirely optional. Wear comfortable, layered clothing, as your body temperature can drop slightly as you relax. Most importantly, bring yourself exactly as you are.

What if I can't relax or switch my mind off?

That's completely normal. You don't need to clear your mind or force yourself to relax. Thoughts will come and go, and that's absolutely fine. Simply notice them and gently bring your attention back to the sounds whenever you feel ready. Even if your mind feels busy, you can still enjoy taking this time out for yourself.

What will I feel during and after a sound bath?

Everyone's experience is different. You might feel deeply relaxed, notice gentle vibrations, experience a sense of stillness, or find that your thoughts begin to quieten. Some people feel emotional, while others simply enjoy resting. Afterwards, you may feel calm, refreshed or sleepy. There's no right or wrong way to experience a sound bath, and you don't need to feel anything in particular.

Is a sound bath suitable for everyone?

Sound baths can be enjoyed by many people, but they're not suitable for everyone in every circumstance. The sounds and vibrations can feel intense for those with sound sensitivities, tinnitus or certain medical conditions. If you're pregnant, have a health concern or are unsure whether a session is right for you, please get in touch beforehand so we can discuss any considerations. Your comfort and wellbeing always come first.

Can I fall asleep during the session?

Absolutely! If you drift off, let yourself rest. You don't need to stay awake or concentrate on the sounds for the experience to be worthwhile. Sometimes, simply giving yourself permission to lie down and do nothing is exactly what you need.

What are the benefits of attending a sound bath?

A sound bath offers an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life and make space for yourself. Many people attend to unwind, slow down, quieten a busy mind and enjoy a moment of calm. It can be a beautiful way to reconnect with yourself, rest and leave feeling more settled. Think of it as dedicated time to pause, breathe and simply be.
